Using Airsoft grenades is a fun way to change up how you might take out an enemy player, especially if they are hiding behind some sort of cover. There are several types of airsoft grenades and they are generally categorized into the following few types:
Hand Grenade: Where you pull the pin, and it actually releases the gas / BB to simulate an explosion.
Dummy grenades: For decorative/simulation purposes, or as a BB storage portable container.

When military units need to clear a room, cover their six, or disperse a cluster of enemy combatants, they turn to tactical explosives to get the job done. Grenades offer a large radius of destruction that can neutralize multiple targets at once, while mines booby-trap tight passages to ensure no one sneaks up from the rear.

Airsoft grenades and Airsoft grenade launchers can take out multiple rival players in a flash with no aiming required. Plus, they aren't all that different from traditional ballistic explosives. Certain varieties are even designed to simulate real, military-grade frag grenades used in actual combat, right down to explosion.
Many reusable Airsoft grenades are gas-powered. Simply fill them with Carbon Dioxide (CO2) or green gas, pull the pin, and Hail Mary them into the opposing bunker. They land with an explosive thud, sounding off a disorienting boom and/or bursting into a flurry of plastic BBs.
Other BB grenades use spring-triggered mechanisms. Fill them with projectiles, pull the pin, and toss. Upon impact, they shower BBs all over your target, instantly eliminating them from play.
Sometimes, an Airsoft grenade isn't the best tool for your combat style. Airsoft mines are far more effective for setting traps and covering your back. An Airsoft mine works much like a traditional claymore: Set it in an inconspicuous spot and wait until the enemy team is in range. Then, activate it remotely or wait for them to trip the wire, then watch as hundreds of BBs blast your opponents into the next round.
